At this kinda hour, it reminds me of the 'free' me... free of sleeping at whatever time i want without having those guilt of having to wake up early the next day... free of doing whatever i want without having those fear of people gonna get angry at me... free of going to work at whatever time i want.... LOL... yea...i miss YSHHB... and i miss doing the project... i miss the office!!! the food they used to order =p i miss that lady! Miss S, u know who u r!! =p i miss the sis and bros.... i miss those meetings and last minute photocopying paper works...and boss have to wait for us instead... oh man... i really really miss that place!! i wish i can go back there!!
and now there's this dilema again.. am i doin the right thing? how old am i? 26. Is this thing normal?? this kinda dilema thingy goin on inside of me?? ugh...

Zee Avi is just 23 but she's an old soul. A huge talent in a petite frame bringing a universal message from the unlikely birthplace of Borneo. Born in the tiny town of Miri in Sarawak on the island of Borneo, Zee grew up near the South China Sea in a liberal, encouraging household where her father owned an energy consultancy. "I was bred to be a lawyer," she says, but music was in her blood. Her father's father sang and played double-bass, accordion, violin and guitar in bands.

At age 12, Zee moved from Borneo to Kuala Lumpur where she has been based since. At 17, Zee started locking herself in a room for hours on end to learn to play guitar. Guitar took a back seat for 4 years while she was studying fashion design in London. When she returned to Kuala Lumpur, she picked the instrument back up and began writing songs and performing with a band.

Zee began recording her songs on a webcam and posting them on YouTube for a friend to hear. "I remember getting so excited when there was one new comment from some random person I didn't know... One read 'I'm lost for words - I shall favorite it and ponder if that's OK,' " which was written by Kris Rowley, a U.K. singer-songwriter with a YouTube following under the name Zzzzzzzzap. He began posting her videos on his site, which began a viral snowball effect.

The day before her 22nd birthday, Zee posted what she intended to be "my last video," a holiday song, "No Christmas for Me." By the time she checked her e-mail Avi had almost 3,000 messages including a slew of label offers. One email came from Ian Montone, who had been shown the YouTube clip by Raconteurs' drummer, Patrick Keeler, prompting Montone to get in touch and offer to release her music on the Monotone Label.

Before she knew it Zee was on a plane to L.A. to record her debut with producer Robert Carranza at Brushfire's Solar Powered Plastic Plant. "No Christmas for Me" was then featured on the holiday charity album, This Warm December, A Brushfire Holiday, Vol. 1.

i went shopping today...actually planing to buy a birthday present for my friends, two of my dear friends, Mai & Noy...who's goin to celebrate their birthday today at 'ehem-ehem' heheeeeee........ so i went to Body Shop (my second home =p) did bought for them...but you know, i can't just neglect and ignore my self for not buying anything for ME (selfish ahahaha).... so i bought The japanese Cherry Blossom bath gel....it smells reaaaalllly good....and guess what i get a free gift - a Moon Flower Body Lotion.... i didn't know that they still produce the brand name...the cute sales girl said that they only have body lotion products of Moon Flower but not perfume anymore....too bad....it was one of my favourite smell (apart from Pink pepper, Chymarra and Rougebery)... hopefully they will someday... =)

it's been one busy week, no time to really 'update' this dear blog of mine...with all the workshop, debate and 'perkampungan' at SMSB...and now i'm back at school (during the school holidays) doing nothin'... not exactly nothing... but less work than what it should have been before...
Life are so changing... so many many many changes.... is it good or bad? i dunno... i just wana wait and see... i owez wait n see... whether it's killing me, fooling me or holding me to survive...
I miss the me before... and i'm trying to be the me now... i have to change... yes i have to... for everyone who wants me to...
its not that easy to make people understand urself u know... and i've been thinking, it's only God who knows who u r... the real u, inside n out... from the moment we make the 'vow' to live in this life, to the past life, the future n our death...

There's an outing activity held at Pantai Seri Kenangan Tutong today. It was one of the activity organised by SMSB for the Perkampungan Sastera Senegara. The Perkampungan was held for 3 days and today is the 2nd day, the closing ceremony would be held tommorrow morning at SMSB.

This was my 2nd time here at pantai Seri kenangan... i kinda like this beach coz its clean... so two thumbs up... =)

It's been a fun day at YSHHB on the 26, 27 and 28th dec... As we, the V.Unit team taking part in organizing the games (snake and ladder, tic tac derrrr, water tag maze and foosball human challenge). Tam ELEK SAJA won the first place at the Foosball Human Challenge, while 2nd place goes to V.Unit 'A' and 3rd place goes to Mystic PR.
Hopefully this event will be held again next year!! heheheee....

Another Visit...

Yesterday, i went for a visit to Kg. Bolkiah again. Went there with Atip, Qiqi, Pya and Lon.
We visit the home of the Tok Ketua at 'B' and observing the surau and balai. Then went to 'A', went to ka Fauziah's place and get the branch office key so that we can rest and have our meal there. We ate Indomee cooked by Qiqi ("abis bejurit lantai olehnya" heheeheee) then Atip and Lon went out to 'order' a nasi katok...yummy...
Oh yeah...we also get to ''touch'' the Lumut Lunting and step on the batu itself!!! will upload the picture soon!!

I was in Temburong on the 22nd - 23rd November 2008 for a charity project organized by Unit Sukarelawan Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah with usahasama Unit Dakwah Daerah Temburong. This was one of the activity under the Projek Memeduli Warga Emas dan Keluarga yang Memerlukan Bantuan.

The charity work took place at the house belongs to Awang Abdul Mukmin Bin Abdullan @ Achau Anak Ketak at Kg. Sibut, Mukin Amo, Temburong. The Board of Directors of YSHHB, YM Dr. Haji Affendi Bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin and YM Awg. Haji Abdul Hamid Bin Haji Janudin, was also attended at the charity work.

Today the 2nd phase for the project of 'Program Membantu Untuk Meningkatkan Sosio-Ekonomi Ke Arah Membasmi Kemiskinan' has started. There's gonna be a lot of work to do.
As usual our team is supervised by Sufinah Hj. Sulaiman. The team - Husairy Hamidun, Rozini Yunos, Sophiya Sulaiman, Qiztina Latif and my self, begin the work with a brainstorming session of what should be done in the first place.
This phase is all about identifying the people of Kg. Bolkiah with low income, and whom considered as the asnaf (penerima zakat) and helping them by giving them courses and trainings so that it is easy for them to look for jobs plus untuk meringankan beban kehidupan mereka sendiri (insyaAllah).
To build a cottage industry at Kg. Bolkiah - that'll be another mission to accomplish. But we all have to survey again of what the people can really do - their expertise, their skills or any kebolehan and kepandaian, so this cottage industry can be done in the future.

Now it's another job to be done. I can't actually believe that i'm gonna be doing this again. To go down to Kg. Bolkiah and to go thru the names and address again. The 1st phase was really something for me. Like i said before the experience that really count. I love doing it...and now i feel like i'm familiar with the place, the people and how does it feel to be there...in them.
It's not like what we see - the houses build in beautiful line, arranged, same colour same roof - but it's a different thing inside. This is all i can do for the needy. To help them grab the opportunity. Because they are Bruneians, and Bruneians are my people, my mirror.
It's all about society folks... to move them forwards, and not just sit there and wait for opportunity to rain on them.

Last 29th and 30th October i'm attending this bengkel held by MUIB in an association with MUIS at Dewan Kuliah Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran, i'm representing there as the volunteers for YSHHB. Learn a lot from this bengkel. There are teams from the corporate sectors- the banks, business groups etc. The NGOs- Majlis Wanita and their associations, the Girl Guides and of course from YSHHB. The govt sectors and so forth.

I was suppose to be working early today, around 10 or 11ish in the a.m. But as usual "akhir bangun" i woke up at 9am actually but itu ini lagi, tau tah betebiat...so i thot baik tah after lunch saja ke office. Then Que texting me saying she's sorry (kononnya) coz akhir ke office, akhir ia bangun jua...so i reply her text saying i'm still at home jua coz akhir bangun... Then at 12pm ada ia text & call lagi saying she got to go home coz her mother minta dangani jalan, and office (kononnya) nada org jaga... ka sufi bejalan kan bejumpa bos yang sorg atu H.H. then i told her, tutup saja pintu and kunci. But she said lagi ka sufi otw with H.H. coz he want to meet us kan briefing, telling me that Rozini is on his way sudah (kononnya), i'm a little panic, doesn't realise any bit of their Grand Agenda... so asking my dad minta antarkan....satu hal lagi, kereta bapa broke down...banyak2 kereta di rumah ani, keeta atu jua karihinya kan di usai, tho i already told him that ada briefing at the office. Kana suruh surung kereta lagi tu =p... at last mau tia. So bejalan tah ke office.
Sudah sampai i saw Laila, i was quite surprise to see her at first, but thot that nothing is wrong with her presence at the office atu jua. So no problemo at all. So i asked mana Atip? they said he's at the surau solat. H.H. pun solat di surau (kononnya). So ke toilet tah ku...after that i saw dorg ani panic semacam, c Que nervous, c laila ke bilik meeting, thot HH kan meeting di sana...tapi yang calinya gagas semacam...but still i didn't realise anything. Then Atip ada, saying...ready dah...oh ok i thot HH ada dah dalam bilik meeting menunggu. so ke sana tah (macam setaie) yang aku ani nda teclick apa-apa, bilik meeting gelap, nda belampong, nda jua realise apa!! apalah! then bila ka sufi mbuka pintu saying 'SURPRISE' pun ku masih bangang. What i have in mind masa atu, banar-banar kan meeting/briefing/discussing or watever, dalam atiku nyangku baik nda HH marah ni dorg beteriak ani...........then i saw the birthday cake with 26 candles on it... and i juz can't believe it, they planned a birthday surprise for me! They asked me to blow the candles so that they can took my picture blowing it... macam-macam tah ulah ku sampai langsung dorg nda sampat took the picture of me blowing the candles hahahaha...... rupa-rupanya they already there at 8am !!!!!! Ya Rabbi..... dorg ani tah.... meeting lah kononnya....sampai si atip otw kan sampai, lapas atu sampai tia...skajap jua dari tutong ke bandar ah......and rupanya Harris was there before tapi tpaksa awal balik coz kan mengambi anaknya and kan beraya lagi....kesian Harris heheheeee......
It's a blackforest cake, and they serve it with Pizza Hut's Super Supreme, along with Coke and Zappel (minuman memabukkan!! nya c Que)... Thank U a zillion guys... love u too...

yey! i woke up early today! =p and i can hug Yoshi today!! i asked Anicare to give him a full grooming, and he look more clean now, tangled hair no more.
I came home at 11pm last nite after doing little amendments to some of the work at City Neon. Met my uncle there as well, but he went home early. So it was Ka Sufi, Sabrina and me staying late at the office. Doing the work there causing me a little 'blur' sikit =p cause i'm using Sabrina's Apple desktop...and i'm more into a Window user than a Mac actually. hehee. but no trouble at all.

I'm eating tart nenas...non-stop =p abis jua ni karang...nda sampat raya =p
and my cornflake cookies? i still haven't got the time to bake. I'm busy ptg tadi, migraine attack and all i do all nite is lying like a sick sleeping beauty but the different thing is that, i'm not sleeping. The nasi katok that i ate for sungkai feels like kan tekeluar balik. i ate 2 pink tabs after that, then taking a rest. Just now i ate 2 more yellow tabs since i'm still having the migraine after 4 hours. My migraine is getting severe since 3 years ago. Cannot think much, cannot be to tired...so how can i do my work??
Maybe i am tired ya... the weather is not good anyway, skajap panas skajap usul-usulnya kan ribut.
Right after showing ka sufi with the works that i've done, she asked me to accompany her to TUDB and KKBS to deliver the kad jemputan, then heading to the HQ at Kumbang Pasang. Met the other people of Yayasan staff there, some i already know some i don't (Harris ada rambut baru - which is gundul =p, saw Limin the IT expert mula-mula relax-relax then ka sufi suruh minta tolong printkan envelope, then the guy in white T, Bahrin, malar ngacau ka sufi, mentang-mentang ka sufi gigiran =p ( i didn't know till today rupanya ka sufi gigiran =p), Amri, The Kulimpapat, bringing a popia triangle for ka sufi, does he make that by him self? hehee, and Amat, asking again for the second time "kumpulan GIGI kah?" when ka sufi calling me by my nick name gigi....that's some of the scene at the HQ).

I just realise that my blog are getting much more personal =p hmm Maybe because lately i spent more time with my lappy than anyone else eheheeee

I can't wait for this 13th Oct actually. Just hope it goes smoothly, esp. for the Kg. Bolkiah Project. All major works are done. "phew!" for the posters, but Rozini choose green and aku hentam black & white =p Sorry bro! green seems common for me. Especially when it comes to yayasan =p
Tommorrow gotta meet up the boss of City Neon and discuss bout the printing matters of the posters. So gotta sleep early ..Zzzzz....KROH! =p nite peepz

The sighting for the new moon is tommorrow. Eid is juz around the corner. I can smell the aroma of a freshly baked cakes, cookies and the smell of freshly painted walls...here and there. What is the meaning of eid actually? It came every year... after the holy month of Ramadhan. But what i can really feel is the sorrow to say good bye to the holy month. First day of eid will always be the sayu one... i dunno, but it owez happen that way. Missing and regreting... Hoping the days after today gonna be much much better.

Here i am again, stealing a little moment from all the works. Reports and posters' done! and now waiting for ka sufi to end her meeting so i can show her what i've done already. Then go home to make some cornflake cookies!!! yeehey...
Every time when i'm away from home, i'll miss home, missing everyone in my house... but when i'm home, i'll be like a zombie starring at my lappy screen opening and closing all the folders of the project that we carried out. Worrying too much...whether i'm doing it right or not.
Rozini are worrying too. He text me last nite saying sorry coz i do all the works alone. No i'm not, bro.
The slides for the presentation, yes i did (tapi banyak error rupanya bro! ekekeke... baik jua nda ketaguran oleh the boards =p) but that because u got other important things to do aite. The reports, Qiz helping me. And the works for the xhibition, u guys did something too, but ada-ada saja problemnya. But as for me ''no problemo, bro!''

I think i should stop here. I wanna get a fresh air outside skajap. It's freezing in here!!

aku sibuk!!...preparing the exhibition of the Kg. Bolkiah Project on this 13th Oct. Orang beraya, aku menatap screen computer =p n menampal poster tu karang di booth ekekee....it's ok. I like being busy, esp. at this kinda time. It challenge me phisically and mentally... and now i'm stealing some moment from doing my work to relax a bit...
My eldest bro came home from KL last nite, to celebrate raya here. But he's gona be goin back to KL on the 5th Oct..kajap ganya. He bring home a new Ikea catalogue. Garam ati ku mliat barang2nya ah...a lot of new stuff. I miss to jalan2 @ the i walk @ Damansara, juz beside Ikea. and eating out at the Gerai sumwer at Damansara also...wats d name of the place?...i forgot.
I miss my friends too. Both the Gonjengs and the SGMK clan. Annie's goin to Manhattan this December. I hope i'll be able to visit her sumtym next year. Mudahan nda busy n no project related to Kg Bolkiah.
I used to sungkai sama-sama with my buddies, but not this year. Not even once, except with Rozini, Hafeez & Sufi at CA Mohammed, atu pun because of we all have a discusion ealier that day. Wana always asked me bila kan sungkai sama-sama...i'm sorry dear, i realy can't find the time *sigh*

A Documentary on Kg. Bolkiah

At 9am yesterday, me and laila was sent to Kg. Bolkiah 'A' for the filming of the documentary about the research that we've carried out last May. It's kinda late, i know, and the date for the presentation have not been schedule yet too.
Rozini suppose to be joining us, but he have to attend his cousin's engagement ceremony. Ka Sufi didn't join us also because she's in her cuti...... U deserve it Ka Sufi. Tapi gerenti time-time cuti ani pun talipaunnya atu inda pandai sanyam... =p eh mcm mulah nini jua ku becakap atu ah ehehhh...
So we went there with Haris, the guy from YSHHB, along with the rest of the filming crew, there were five of them, including two indonesian cameraman.
The filming doesnt captured our voice (no script) so eksen-eksen saja menyoal, but it was a real question that we asked the penduduk kampung because we have to show how the research works in the documentary. The filming was o.k. No problem at all.
So tekeduhung turun ke kampung atu, we take the opportunity to visit Ka Fauziah at the YSHHB branch office. Oh..i really miss the office =p where it used to be the meeting point for the research team, to rest, to take a nap and to have our lunch (nasi katok!!). Sweet memories it is...

This is my cat, Yoshi a.k.a Fluffy. I love Yoshi soooo much. But lately, inda ku tejaga ia. So many tangled hair and inda tebawa ke vet lagi. Masa ani bekurung saja dalam cage. Selalunya belapas, tapi lately malar ia peepee 'mengancit' sana sini. Orang cakap coz he need a girlfriend, that's why. Tapi girlfriend untuk Yoshi pun ku inda teunjarkan.....cian Yoshi... =(

Hello peepz...sorry for this late update. i've been busy lately, still doing work, the slides n stuff for our presentation on Kg. Bolkiah.. n the rest of my time filled by taking care of my rock star n her comrades - being an observer for the band... so here it goes on the Lumut project...
31st May 2008 - i went to Lumut to join another three of my dear friends (atip, zaqhiz & laila) along with the staff from YSHHB & other sukarelawan to visit the house of Gambar bin Susu. we were there to help clean his home n fix everythings broken. Tolong cat dinding rumah..n bersihkan halaman...
As far as i know, Gambar bin Susu, 80's, is a mualaf, living with his three daughter. The eldest is 18 yrs old. Wife meninggal sudah, name if im not mistaken Pg Fatimah bte Pg Abas. At the end of the day, tahlil ceremony for his late wife was held.
It was quite ngalih but honestly boring coz the rest of the geng nda join... but like i said before the experience that realy count. Ngalih or boring but still craving for such experience. so here's the photos...

The Band with No Name...yet

Last Sunday, on the 25th of May, 2008. I went to 4Aces Studio in Serusop, invited by Nic to see them jamming. I went there with Laila, Qiztina joined us a bit late. Since i got no plan so i thought it is better to filled the time by enjoying something that i like.When i arrived at the studio, Nic and the band were ready to play some number. They were ten of them, including Nic, and the rest are Fadil,Dayah, Jeda, Lambut, Intan,Mac, Mai, Amal and Noi. All girls! and a guy.
They still new, but i must say that they are talented. Very talented. But they haven't got a name yet.
Some of the number they cover are Elang (original artist by Dewa/Dewi-Dewi), Permintaan Hati (Letto), Munajat Cinta (The Rock) and Creeps *my favourite!!!!* (Radiohead). It was great to be inside the studio watching them. Loud Music always entertain me, and i don't even realize the time passed by very quickly for 2 hrs!
After that they proceed to ABC Restaurant, i guess it's their favourite place to hang out, It's a karaoke centre and they all gila karaoke too =p
I've never been there so i thought i should try that place, who knows it could be my favourite place too.
The place is quite ok. My 1st impression was it looks like a home =p
but the surrounding is kinda cozy..not bad at all. Dorang lagi nyanyi lagu frust saja...so i was like sober all night long....hahaaa... =p

So on the 28th May, 2008, around 9pm, me, lela n Qiztina went to Kg. Tungku to see the band performing.
There were other band also..but KUGIRAN orang-orang lama (for you guys who doesn't know what Kugiran stands for - Kumpulan Gitar Rancak) the members are originaly from The Irama 5, Buana, Heart Desire, The Cheteria etc. (Sorry if spelling salah ah =p). The Kugiran played an evergreen numbers, and some new ones, like 'Ketahuan' (Matta) and 'Munajat Cinta' (The Rock).
I was very very eager and inda sabar kan meliat Nic's band performing, kan menyamal saja inda =p But at last they're up infront of us putting some good and latest music. Like i said earlier, they're good and talented. They're new and ofcoz they need more practices and supports! The songs that they covered - 'Rama-Rama' (originally by Ella), "Waktu " (Maria), 'Permintaan Hati" (Letto) and 'Munajat Cinta' (The Rock).
Fadil and Wati were on vocal that night, Nic on drum, Mai on bass, Lambut, Mac and Intan on guitar.
They were given a good feedback from the crowds and even from the guy from RTB who happened to be there also.
i'll upload some of the video clip while they're performing soon, but now i must show you guys the picture of them!!...

Humongous Tibadak Nangka from Kabun Hj. Nordin, Tutong.

Last Wednesday, 28th May, 2008 i went out lepaking with Nic and Mac along with Zaqhiz n Laila at TK, Ga dong, right after Nic and The Band performing di Tungku (i'll cover that soon!!) .
So Nic show me pictures of buah Tibadak Nangka from kabun her dad sumwer at Tutong. i forgot the name of the place.. but sumwer d Tutong eheh!...(now i know,Nic explained it's either from kebun siring rumahnya di Keriam, or kebun khas her dad di Bukit Dadap) It's a humongous Tibadak Nangka i've ever seen!!!

Like i mention earlier, being in the team to carry out the research to find the solution for the difficulties faced by the people of Kg Bolkiah has given me so much lesson. It makes me thankful for the life that i already have and it makes me realize that ada lagi orang yag hidupnya lebih sengsara and very sad to compare with the one that i have.
It's not just about money matters but it's about life.
A life that they have to go through no matter how hard it is... and because of that they did something that they shouldn't do...and be someone that they shouldn't be. Is that their fault? When life are so hard and they have no choice? and not forgeting when they are influenced by those negativity. Is it because of the lacking of good knowledge in them?, lacking of ilmu di dada? or lacking of pengetahuan beragama? i don't have the answer... but actually for what ever happens to them, the good or the bad, it's from within them selves. The destiny is in their own two hands, and God fulfill it.

Like one of the house that i went, the owner is a father of 4 (if i'm not mistaken), and his wife is just a suri rumah tangga. The eldest daughter work in a shop, while one of the son is making kites to sell. The father is in tahanan, expected to be the first Bruneian to be executed.
Honestly, it was so hard for me, even by knocking the door of the house...berat rasanya. and i don't know why.
When i enter the house, i can feel the sadness in the house. I didn't see any smiles in their faces. Except for the wife when we started to have a good conversation about her specialty in making kain tenunan...but too bad she doesn't have the 'rumah tenunan' if inda ada jua pendapatan...
I remember when i asked my friend 'Tep, macam mana ni? macam mana kan tanya pasal lakinya?' and atip says '...belapik saja'. At the end i don't even mention or asked about her husband. And i know atip and lela who was with me at that time inda tau what to do or what to asked either. It was just a short meeting, awkward and sensitive.

I remember when i saw 2 guys, one of them carrying a TV with him. Rupanya, like what 'she' told us, the two guys are orang gila. Actually, they aren't gila, but because of that 'barang' yang menghayalkan atu, making their mind kurang betul. They should understand the definition of 'orang gila' sebenarnya. For me 'orang gila' is for example si Bush, the lady who killed a kitten with her heels (the one yg ada arah forwarded emails),orang yang makan harta yang bukan hak misalnya harta anak yatim, orang yang menganiaya sesama manusia... atu baru orang gila (to mention a few). But people like the two guys i mention above, are not orang gila, tapi let's just say that they are kurang daya pemikiran.

Another house that i went, the owner is a single mother...i can't remember berapa ramai anaknya, but for sure ramaiii... and semua masih bersekolah...and she's not working. So they all dependent to duit bantuan sahaja... But i found out that this single mother got a talent mengubah bunga dari manik-manik, so i asked her, whether dijualnya jua or membuat tempahan untuk mengubah bunga atu, but she said no, just untuk sendiri-sendiri saja. And i asked her again kenapa inda buat business sampingan? at least ada income or pocket money jua....and she replied 'Nada modal'... banar jua kan... membali manik atu bukan jua murah, and apa jua pendapatan dorang sekeluarga yang bergantung duit bantuan kebajikan saja...
Another housewife that i met, she got the skills to make a curtain, it's not just a simple curtain, but a realy nice and stylish curtain. And as usual i said to her 'buleh buat business ni menjait tabir' and she replied inda ia berani, takut salah jahit, karang kana sumpah oleh orang.... patut kah inda tu? or mind setnya patut tani ubah n gosok lagi?? Buleh jadi jua kan.. orang Brunei ani tah lagi kuat menyumpah...some ler...

The problem of most of the people that i came across,the people who have the talent and skills are 1. Nada modal, 2. lack of self confidence, 3. No proper place to run their skill work, i.e. some people pandai membaiki injin perau and some ada yag pandai membaiki refrigerator... macam-macam pemandai dorang ani, but ramai yang inda tau and no proper place kan membuat keraja, in other words they need a workshop!

Other than that, the people really need a proper kedai runcit...or maybe a mini supermarket! Ada kedai runcit pun barang-barangnya mahal! some of the penduduk, they requested a place untuk beriadah. Ada orang atunya 'kalau buleh tempat main ping pong!'

It was such an experience for me. Fun, tired, sun burn, and i spent less time with my family at home. Our research started at 8am (getting ready) and most of the day we have a short briefing at the office till 7pm. Balik rumah mandi and terus Zzzzz....KROH!...kadang-kadang inda lagi temakan (coz kanyang nasi katok dah!! =p)
But above all i'm so puas, i don't know but that's what i think...because the experience that really count.
I don't know if i could just stop here...there's so many things i wanna share, and i'm sure some of my team mates got such an amazing experience too...
So before i forgot, i would love to take this opportunity to thank all my team mates for their spirit of working together, for their understanding and for every moment that we shared. It was a wonderful moment. And sorry if ada terkasar language, and yang sudi menerima segala kusutan (heheee...andang pengusut kan?). And thank u also to those who take good care of me masa DAMAM and ayung!! Orang yang tukang bawakan beg, tukang bawakan paper bag, tukang pigang bila turun naik perau, yang tolong basahkan tuala untuk simpan arah kepala, the panadol... it's a sweet memory. And thank u for the air cap badak! (aye aye captain!!). And to Nic, still can't believe that there is a connection...in a way =p Ka Sufi thank u very much for giving this opportunity n experience to us =)
Can't wait to meet u guys again!! Lotsa Love...

YSHHB Research

On the 2nd May - 11th May, 2008, i'm joining a team of 10 people to carry out a research for Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. The main objective of the research was to find out the solution on how to put the difficulties of the unfortunate people of Kg. Bolkiah to an end. Like i mention earlier the team consist of 10 people. Headed by Erwandy n assisted by my own dear best friend, Rozini yunos. and the rest are Nic, Zaqhiz, Laila, Kasyfil, Fuad, Atikah, Azimah n my self. And yeah, Ruzaini (wadut) but too bad he could only be with us on the first day, so Fuad replaced him (thanks for dropping by Wadut!! =)

We started our day by bekumpul at the office, then we proceed to the jeti around 9am and getting our selves ready to be transported by Jol the boatman to Kg Bolkiah.
That's what usually happen for the 10 whole days, and we had our break at lunch time at the YSHHB branch at the kampong.. (that reminds me of the nasi dalam plastic made by Ka Fauziah...yummy! =p)

Being in the research team banyak memberikan pengajaran to me. i even learn a lot by putting my self in the middle of the community of the orang-orang kampong. Bear in mind that it's a new kampong, like what one of the penduduk says 'kampong antarabangsa'. Ada yang asal dari Kg. Saba, Kg. Setia Pahlawan, Kg. Bendahara Lama and ada yang asal dari darat! It wasn't like the typical kampong ayer yang kitani kenali. I can see that from how they mingle with each other. I think it has less spirit of bekerjasama, less mesra n some area they don't even know siapa yang tinggal sebalah rumah dorang!
But that's only a few thing that we witnessed. Only the people in the team knows how it's like. But honestly, i miss being there...i miss kan mengatuk rumah orang and kan membawa orang becerita =p Some are friendly n some aren't.

I remember when i went to this house n there's an old lady living there... she seems so familiar but i don't know who. I keep on looking at her trying to figure out something... after a while when my friend who was with me at that time membawa daughter of that old lady bekurapak, mention that her mother used to be active, invited by a lot of people to play the bedundang/bemukun...and when she mention the name of her mother is 'Hajah Ajijah' then i remember her. She's the famous lady who used to be bedundang or bemukun in some wedding ceremonies n even on TV. Oh well, i didn't know that she lives there. She is such a living legend i guess... And when i said 'patut tah macam ku kenal kita ani', and her daughter said 'patut tah ko malar meliat mama ku, dari tadi diperatikannya kita ma eh!' Hahaaa...kedapatan meratikan orang! apalah!...

And i remember visiting this one house at Kg. Bolkiah A, own by an old lady too, She's about 80 years old, staying with her sister, who is in her 80's too. It's only both of them living there. They seem very friendly, n they never married before. So they have no children to take care of them, only anak buah yang kadang2 tidur di sana. So they live, pay the bills and membali barang makan fully dependent on duit bantuan saja... and it wasn't that much. And they told me, sometimes they have to beutang beras dari jiran sebalah! And not forgeting the bil karan. To tell u guys, i checked since last year, the bills never been open. why? because they cannot read! apa jua tau orang tua-tua beumur 80an, and the rest let me just keep it to my self.

The funny thing bout some of the people there, dorang ada kepandaian/kemahiran, ada tangan n kaki n most important thing is ada akal, untuk mencari nafkah.. but they get bantuan fakir miskin/zakat to support them. As far as i know, they shouldn't coz they stil have the kudrat untuk mencari makan.

More than that tedapat astro/prabola, handphone, and tedapat macam2 lagi dalam rumah bisdia atu... how come? i know its easy for me to talk... but think bout the rest. Who doesn't have the ability, who doesn't have the qualification or education to find a job. Like this one family, the ketua keluarga (the father) is sick, having a stroke for so many years... and ofcoz he cannot work. But when i asked one of his daughter, who have the qualification sampai form 3 ganya (yes..ganya) but she still can work. when i asked her 'kenapa nda keraja?' and she answered me 'Malas'. She knew that she shouldn't be... Keraja buleh cari di mana-mana sebenarnya, asal halal!!

Yea...i know.. i know....it's not that easy for them. Membayar tambang lagi kan tiap hari turun naik... ujung-ujung bulan brapa jua gnya ada dalam tangan abis-abis membayar this and that. Yea, it's not so easy... but usaha tangga kejayaan...InsyaAllah.
